Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

Board Work Session 7:00 pm

February 21, 2018

Front Entrance Engineering Project. Presentation By Ryan Foroughi BFG Engineering. BFG was contracted last year to provide and engineering study to address the front entrance to include the 2nd incoming lane, the fire department access, a parking area between the PD and the FD and creating a safer merge from visitor stop sign onto Washington by potentially moving the Front Gate which is due for replacement/upgrade. Mr. Foroughi talked about all aspects of the project including that it is not feasible to move the gate because of survey borders, that we can expect to pay between $150k to $225k for the second incoming lane most of which will be paving. $290k has been earmarked for the entire project. He talked about submission dates with the county which are rigid and mentioned that few contractors he knows are not booked well into summer saying “the recession is over. Contractors are busy.” Much discussion...

FY19 General Manager Annual Letter

Dear Residents,

Happy almost Spring! Welcome to Aquia Harbour FY19. This year’s budget begins April 1st and reflects a $5-a-month increase. I know. It’s a lot, especially when everyone is dealing with these ridiculous winter electric bills. I assure you it was absolutely necessary to address two primary issues: Our roads and a much-needed technology upgrade. After accepting this job last year and spending a year evaluating our situation, I wouldn’t be serving your needs if I ignored these two areas.

Even with the increase we are still the most affordable gated community in a 30-mile radius, most of whom don’t have half our amenities, few who have our coveted location right next to I95 and none who have our charm. Still… I know the question I would ask if someone were bumping my monthly obligation… How does my life get better for my $5 a month? Fair enough. Here are some of the enhancements you will see this year;
