Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

Pot luck dinner tonight! 5:30-7:30 at the Harbour Inn 1417 Washington Drive. The food bank will also be open during this time for drop off or pick up.

Now that the furloughed workers are back to work we will start cutting back on the hours of the Pantry until we're sure this is over, but tonight WE BREAK BREAD together so come on out and enjoy some great food and the company of your neighbors. (Next Monday the Pot Luck is being catered by our friends at Mission BBQ!).

Thank you Aquia Harbour Women's Club for hosting the Food Pantry this weekend.

HEADS UP

It’s going to get really ugly around here the next 3 days. I remember the 2015 flash freeze because I went down JPJ in uniform on my backside (regrettably there is no video).

A flash freeze is just that. One minute it's slush, the next minute it's frozen solid. Not a good time for new drivers - or any drivers to be on the road. It looks like it starts getting dicey after 6pm Tues.

We can't pretreat because it will be raining prior to the snow and freeze and the temps Wed and Thursday near or below freezing. Closings probably Wed and Thu.

Time Line

Tues Midmorning – Rain will start

Tues around 4-5pm Snow begins

Tues 6-8pm FLASH FREEZE POSSIBLE

Wed – Closings probable
