Aquia Harbour

Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

hlp The Aquia Harbour Police is in possession of numerous bicycles that have been found abandoned inside the Harbour over an undetermined period of time. If you are missing a bicycle please check this list and call with a further description of your missing bicycle to see if one of these might be yours. None of the bicycle VIN’s have been listed as stolen. After December 31st any unclaimed bikes will be donated to the Stafford County Juvenile Probation Office as they have expressed an interest in redistribution to deserving families.

Beginning this week, Waste Management will no longer be picking up yard waste on Wednesdays. Until spring, yard waste will be collected on Thursdays. As this is also the same day that household trash is picked up, yard waste will be collected as space on the trucks allows. This means that if you have many bags of leaves out, it may take Waste Management more than one pick up to remove them all.

If you have questions regarding trash and yard waste removal, please call either the business office at (540) 659-3050 or Waste Management at (800) 969-2069.

For those of you who are not yet aware, you can hear announcements of current events, meetings and any relevant emergency information as you enter and exit the community on Aquia Harbour Radio. Tune your vehicle radio to 1670 AM as you come up the hill from Route 1 and you will be able to hear about a one minute broadcast of local Aquia Harbour information. The low power transmitter is located at the gate. The message is updated weekly unless there is a more pressing need to get information to the residents.

You can also access the current message throught he AHPOA website at www.aquiaharbour.org Find the blue button on the left of the home page (7th button down) and follow the prompts to save and open the message.

This is a much more efficient way of informing residents about current events than trying to read the bulletin board as you are driving into the community. You can also hear the message as you are leaving the community when you get in close...
