Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

A set of keys was been turned in to the office today. They were found at the intersection of Harpoon and Victoria. If you think they might be yours, please contact the business office (540) 659-3050.

The office has several keys and other items that have been found in and around the community. If you know of a family member or friend that has lost something, please have them contact us. We would love to reunite the various keys, pieces of jewellery etc. that we have with their owners.

We have received a few calls from new residents regarding lighting fireworks on their property to celebrate the Fourth of July. Fireworks should only be set off on the actual day/night. Stafford County Code states that fireworks which have a quick-match fuse, explode, rise into the air or travel laterally, or which fire projectiles, not including sparks, into the air are prohibited. Additionally, fireworks which emit flames or sparks for a distance greater than 12 feet are prohibited.

If you are planning to set off your own fireworks, please keep the following safety tips in mind: Buy from a reliable seller, and read and follow label directions; Do not use fireworks indoors; Keep a hose or bucket of water nearby to douse any flames; Never re-light a “dud” firework; Never throw or point fireworks at people; Don’t shoot fireworks in metal or glass containers; Always wear eye protection when igniting a firework and move away from the firework, immediately, once it is lit and dispose...
