Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

A warning to residents - on Wednesday, May 20, there was a sewer pipe break and it appears that some sewage leaked in to the creek by the bridge. It will take a few days for the water to clear. In the mean time, for your safety, please stay out of the creek.

Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police Week is an observance in the United States that pays tribute to the local, state, and Law Enforcement officers. The holiday was created on 1 October 1961 when Congress asked the president to designate May 15th to honor peace officers. It is done to honor the fallen and the now, 700,000 sworn law enforcement officers who are now serving our nation in small towns and in huge cities of concrete and steel. They serve in rural counties on lonely shift assignments, and on the interstates and highways that criss-cross our nation.

The Memorial takes place on May 15, and Police Week is the calendar week in which the Memorial falls. Many memorial events occur during this week including a candlelight vigil at the National Police Memorial in D.C. and the Police Unity Tour in which over 1000 police officers bicycled from Va. Beach to D. C. to raise money for the memorial and the families of fallen officers. Aquia Harbour was privileged to act in a support...
