It looks like our area will just be rain if we get anything at all, but if you are traveling south late Sunday night into Monday, be aware that Richmond and points south and southwest are looking like there is the potential for a "historic December snow storm". So please plan accordingly. With Southern Virginia/Richmond as the current cut off, I urge you to keep an eye on this storm Sunday night cuz that's awfully close!
OVERNIGHT MONDAY AM MODELS- WOW...
The overnight models into early Monday morning shifted the northern edge of the snow shield a little further to the north. This means that the moderate snow line now it does in fact reach Washington, DC Baltimore and much of the Delmarva mainly Sunday night into Monday morning. However the real impact of this system is going to be over the western half of North Carolina ...all of southwest Virginia ... the Shenandoah Valley south of interstate 66 and the southern half of the Virginia Piedmont.
The early Monday morning European model as well as the advanced GFS FV3 simply crush most of central and Western Virginia as well as the western half and North Carolina with a historic snowstorm.
