Confidence is high from the Stafford Situation Room and the NHC that we have dodged this bullet.
The new storm track updates have greatly reduced the impact threat for Stafford County. Rainfall for our area has been reduced to 2-4inches. While the threat is reduced, we are still expecting to see heavy rain continuing into next week that has the potential to cause flooding, road closures and downed trees. Soil saturation for our area is already at 98% so even the reduced rainfall amounts will have an impact.

It's clear we can relax a little but you should never turn your back on a 140MPH storm so stay tuned. For us, it looks like its going to be an event of rain and light winds Fri-Sun that could produced localized flooding. As you are exhaling, please keep the good people of the Carolinas in your thoughts, especially the first responders. This storm appears to be one of biblical proportion. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they turned out to be wrong? Let's hope.

If you donate, make sure you do your due diligence and check the company out first. Otherwise the Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation.html is usually a safe way to help.

Thank you for the endless offers from residents to be on stand by to help if we took a hit. Love this place.
