Come Plant a Tree with your Aquia Host Lions!

When: Saturday April 21st at 1:30pm

Where: Aquia Harbour Front Entrance along the boundary with the Aquia Town Center. (Please Park in the Aquia Town Center in the lot behind the office building, by Towne Cleaners.)

Why: The Aquia Harbour Host Lions Club, in conjunction and with approval from Aquia Harbour HOA and Mosaic, have recently approved a community service project to reforest and provide a natural/ visual buffer in the areas recently graded in anticipation of the Town Center development.

How: We will need helpers of all ages to plant the 650 seedlings for the project. The seedlings are only 8-12 inches tall and will require a relatively small hole so minimal effort will be required for each. The trick will be in planting them in the numbers we have ordered to ensure a good stand of trees survives the first few years. This would make a great service project for teens looking for hours for school or scouts, a fun family activity that will bring the community together and something you can watch grow. Please feel free to stop by anytime in the afternoon, whether you can plant 1 seedling or 100, as we will go till we are done. If you would like to bring a hand trowel, shovel, or post hole digger please do, if not we will have a number on site.
