Our server is finally back up. Its been out for most of the storm.
About 2 hours ago a convoy of trucks from was spotted heading into the area from other states and hallelujah we just had several power trucks enter the Harbour.
SCOPE This is the 5th largest outage in Dominion history – right behind the Derecho of 2012. 700,000 lost power. 82,000 still out. https://www.facebook.com/dominionenergyva/ is a good source of information.
COMMUTING TOMORROW – As of now all HOV lanes are southbound because the Potomac Mills sign that looms over the interstate is unstable. Be sure to plan for the fact that there probably will not be northbound HOV lanes tomorrow.
RELIEF – There are many neighbors with power offering their guest rooms so if you need a place to stay please reach out to me 703-407-6106. The conference room (side doors) at business office and the showers at the Country Club (pool access door) will remain open 24/7 until everyone has been restored.
Please continue to be very careful to avoid downed lines even if you think they are inactive. The use of generators can “back fill” power into a line and recharge it, making it very dangerous. All roads are open except for Monitor Drive.
Thank you to our power folks who are working so hard to bring everyone back up and to those who traveled great distances to help Virginia.
