    Wow! Great turn out at the Town Hall last night. A positive and productive meeting with some excellent questions. We have some wicked smart people in this neighborhood (as my friend from Boston would say!). Thank you to all who came out. Many of the questions are answered in the attached brief but here are some other questions that came up;

    Will it interfere with EZ Pass or other RFID technology? No. The frequency is proprietary for AH only.

    When can we pick up our decals? Active Members (up to date on dues) will be able to pick up their decals (one free electronic decal for every current decal assigned to you) at the Business Office Mon-Fri 8a-7p starting Thursday JULY 6th. It was also suggested that we facilitate some weekend pick up options – either opening the office or leaving your sealed envelopes at an open weekend amenity for pick up. Great suggestion - In the works.

    How much are additional decals? Additional decals are $10 each with proof of vehicle registration.

    Can we buy them for our permanent guests? Not yet. Let us get the residents taken care of and then we’ll talk about adding guests.

    How long will the decals last? 6-8 years.

    Is it legal for these decals to be on the windshield? Yes

    They are supposed to go on the passenger-upper-inside windshield but how do we know the best place to position them in based on our windshield shape? You can put them on with a strip of tape until you are sure about the position.

    What happens if people run the red light? Without visible AH decals as we have now, a gate runner (disregarding the red-light) will be broadcast to the duty officer to determine if the person is trespassing (CVA 18.2-119) and the tag will be captured by the cameras.

    Will the resident lane still have to be shut down at 10pm? No. We may still close it from midnight to 4 or 5am but the electronic system should allow us to keep the resident lane open later.

    How long and why will you store information? 7 days and the information is only be accessed if a crime is being investigated. The AHPOA has no need for the data except in the context of gate runners and total number of vehicles in and out.

    When is the additional visitor lane going in and how will it affect residents? The resident’s lane will remain the same. The additional lane will hold visitors, guests, vendors etc. and was tied to the Town Center Project but we are in talks with Mosaic to have the lane done independently of the Harris Teeter entrance (which only happens if Harris Teeter signs).

    Again – many thanks to all who came out. The attached document should cover the rest and if it doesn’t – hit me at gm@aquiaharbour.org.
