Tuesday morning road conditions report:
We caught another break. Temperatures only went down to 32 last night. The midnight shift officer says that rear wheel vehicles are not ideal but most have been getting through without incident. FWD-AWD-4WD and 15MPH still seem to be your safest bet.
Remember the rules of the Yankees (the northerners not the Baseball players)
Clear off your car completely
Get up enough speed to get up the hill in front of you
Downshift rather than break when going down a hill or into a curve.
Allow 6 car lengths between you and the car in front of you.
Slow and steady on flat snow/ice covered roads
Inexperienced drivers should wait until the warm up early afternoon.
Officer Thompson will be watching for vehicles following too closely or driving aggressively - so don't.
