Aquia Harbour is the premier gated community of Stafford County, Virginia. We are located approximately 45 miles south of Washington DC, 15 miles north of Fredericksburg and 70 miles north of Richmond. The historic Aquia Creek runs through our community providing a year-round navigable waterway leading to the Potomac River and on to the Chesapeake Bay. Beautiful woodlands surround our homes and give the community the feel of a delightful country setting. “The Harbour”, as we often refer to our community, encompasses over 2,000 acres including 400 acres of protected wetlands. Wildlife abounds; you can watch osprey fish the creek and see deer feeding in the surrounding forest. We are far enough away from the city to see a myriad of stars light the evening skies but close enough to be visiting the sites of Washington, DC in under an hour.

Beginning on November 4, Waste Management will be picking up yard waste on Wednesdays. Regular household trash will continue to be picked up on Mondays and Thursdays.

Stafford, Va. The Stafford County Sheriffs Office announces that National Teen Safe Driving Week will be the week of October 18 – 24, 2009. The Unites States Congress has committed this week to promoting safe teen driving. The Stafford County Board of Supervisors will be presenting a Proclamation on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 announcing this very important week.

The Stafford County Sheriffs Office in cooperation with Stafford Fire and Rescue, Stafford County Public Schools, Stafford County Courts and the Virginia Department of Transportation are combing efforts to promote teen safe driving.
• School Resource officers will be making morning announcements in their schools encouraging teens to drive safely providing teens with tips and statistics.
• The Traffic Safety Unit will place Sheriff’s Office message boards in various locations around the county with a reminder for all drivers to drive safely.
