Snow Feb 10-14

From the National Weather Service, the snow is expected to start on Wednesday (tomorrow) afternoon and continue on and off through Sunday morning to include periods of icing. Up to 7” being forecasted for our area from these three different systems. Please plan accordingly.


The Euro model above shows snow falling for a long duration over the southern Mid-Atlantic. The other models have begun agreeing more with the Euro which is indicating a potentially long duration moderate snow event. Right now, this event could bring 3 – 7 inches of snow in Virginia and 2 – 5 inches around the Maryland – Pennsylvania border. Western Maryland and West Virginia will be the winners where they could get 5 – 10 inches of snow by Thursday evening. This storm system could continue through Friday, which would bring additional snow to the region and potentially extend further north.

Wednesday Night: Snow. Low around 30. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow. High near 33. Northeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Thursday Night: Snow. Low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Friday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Saturday: A chance of snow and freezing rain before 3pm, then a chance of freezing rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday Night: A chance of snow and freezing rain before 9pm, then a chance of freezing rain between 9pm and 3am, then a chance of snow and freezing rain after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday: A chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
