SERVE - A place to turn to for crisis assistance is S.E.R.V.E. The non-profit provides emergency financial assistance and cash grants for those families in a crisis or short-term hardship. People can get help that includes free food boxes and groceries, utility and heating bill help, access to rental assistance programs, prescription medicines and vouchers for drugs, continuing education classes, job training, holiday food baskets and even school supplies such as books and clothes. Resources and services offered to those in need include family, individual, and crisis pregnancy counseling; funds for paying for a crisis (such as rent help and utility assistance); infant foster care and adoption services. (540) 371-1124.
Rappahannock Area Agency on Aging (540) 371-3375 - runs programs for the elderly and senior citizens.
Please don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. This is a very stressful time and its okay to need some help. You already have a support system in place in that you live in Aquia Harbour and even if you're by yourself, you're not alone. Every day that passes gets us closer to the end of this.
