It looks like we could get hit pretty hard between 3p-7p today (Wednesday) with straight line wind gusts of up to 65MPH - very "derecho" like. We've already had one tree come down from the excessive rain and up to 2 more inches is expected.
Road closures will be posted here and staffing has been adjusted. Please plan your afternoon accordingly.
Threat Areas: A line of severe thunderstorms will continue surging east ahead of the advancing cold front across Georgia and Florida to the Carolinas, eastern Virginia and portions of the mid-Atlantic states.
Main Threats: Damaging thunderstorm winds would be the biggest threat, however, tornadoes are also possible, both within the squall line and in any individual thunderstorms ahead of the line. It's possible there could be a strong tornado or two (EF2 or higher rating) in Virginia and North Carolina.
